Ellis Shield 1st Round, Edge Hill Fives v Christ Church – March 6th 2019

The Edge Hill Fives team played their Ellis Shield 1st round match against Christ Church after school today. Edge Hill Fives (Max T x3, Cole, Zack, Charlie P x2) 7-0 Christ Church

The match opened with a few scares in front of the Fives’ goal, but Zack and Charlie P managed to get things under control and clear their line. Shortly after, Max T opened the scoring after some slick passing put him in a scoring position. Within a few minutes, he scored the team’s second goal to put some daylight between the two teams. Before half-time, Cole got the third goal.

Most of the play after the break took place in the Christ Church half. Zack got forward to snatch a goal after the goalie fumbled the ball. During a 5 minute spell playing in a forward position, Charlie P grabbed two goals to put the team well clear at 6-0, one of which was an impressive side foot volley into the net after a corner landed perfectly at his foot. The final goal came from Max T, capping off a hat-trick for himself and rubber-stamping a dominant performance by the whole team!
