RUNNERS-UP! Y5/6 Dodgeball Tournament @ Robert Sutton – 21st January 2019

Edge Hill A was a mixed Y5/6 team which played 5 group matches, winning 3-0 against Anglesey A, 3-0 against Thomas Russell, losing 0-3 against William Shrewsbury A, winning 3-0 against Oldfields B, and winning 2-1 against William Shrewsbury B.

As group runner-up they faced Anglesey B in their semi-final, winning the match 2-1.

In the final, they faced the WS A team again, narrowly losing the opening game 1-2. The team stormed back to win the second game 5-0. However, WS turned the tables in the final game to quickly knock all our players out of the game, meaning the match ended 2-1 to WS A.

Well done to the players for gaining 2nd place in a tough competition!

Edge Hill B - A majority Y5 team with a few Y6s competed in group B also playing 5 matches. They managed to beat Oldfields B 3-1, William Shrewsbury C 3-1, Holy Trinity 3-1 and Edge Hill C 3-0 and lost 3-1 to Anglesey B. As group winners, they advanced through to the semi-final where they faced William Shrewsbury A. Unfortunately for the team, their opponents proved too strong and lost the game 3-0. They then faced Anglesey B again in the 3rd and 4th place playoff and lost the game 2-1. A brilliant achievement to finish 4th in a competition full of mostly Y6 pupils.

Edge Hill C - Our final team was made up of the pupils who had been attending our recent dodgeball after school club which gave chances to children to get their first taste of representing the school. They were also placed in group B alongside Edge Hill B. In their first game, they lost a close game 2-1 after slowly getting to grips with the speed of the game. They then lost 3-0 to Olfields B and 3-1 to Anglesey B. In their 4th game, they played some fantastic dodgeball and claimed their first win with a 3-2 win over William Shrewsbury C. In their final game, they faced off against Edge Hill B in a ‘fun-free-for-all’.

A massive congratulations to all the children who represented the school.

Edge Hill A: Amber, Charlie P, Cole, Zack, Harrison, Jack and Omarion!

Edge Hill B: Max B, Max T, Charlie F, Mia F, Ty G, McKenzie L and Marnie!

Edge Hill C: Amani, Sadie, Lydia, Kaiden, Geoffrey, Jack,  and Zac.
