Staffs Cup Semi-final - Tuesday 2nd April 2019

Mr Carvell, 2 Apr 2019

Edge Hill 9-0 The Willows Primary Today, our Y5/6 boys faced The Willows who travelled from Stoke in their Staffordshire Under 11s Cup Semi-Final

The first 10 minutes of the game were very close with both teams cancelling each other out. It took some brilliant football down the right from Max T to force a chance for Cole who as usual found the net. The second and third goals followed soon after with Harrison scoring two very well worked goals after some battling in the midfield which meant that EH found themselves 3-0 up at half-time.

Our boys continued their excellent footballing display in the second half with some inch-perfect passing and teamwork on and off the ball. Mckenzie had very little to do all game but when called upon he was brilliant in his distribution and slowed the game down to ease the team’s nerves at times. Zack, Charlie P and Omarion were solid at the back and were first to every ball and recovered well when needed. Max and Jack were menaces on the wing and created chance after chance for their teams mates witch super crosses and through balls. Charlie F and Harrison ran the midfield and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck from start to finish - winning their personal battles and keeping calm in some heated situations. Cole ran himself into the ground and did extremely well to lead the line on his own against 3 opposing defenders. The goals in the second half came from Jack, Max (x2), Cole and Zack (2) who were all cool in front of goal and began to enjoy themselves as the chances continued to arrive.

Congratulations boys, onto the final next week!
