Year 3 get together with local school for a PE festival

On Friday 16th and 23rd of November, Year 3 from Heycroft and Edwards Hall got together to participate in a festival of PE. On alternate dates, one class from both schools got together at the start of lunch time. The children got the opportunity to meet new people and chat with them whilst having their lunch. Before starting the PE session, the classes got the chance to play on the playground. When lunch time ended, the two classes were mixed up with the children being divided into 8 mixed teams. Warm up activities started proceedings with a variety of movements before being introduced to the ball. The children had to pass the ball to each other, developing their throwing and catching skills whilst being challenged to remember the names of their teammates. After a few technical pointers, the children were ready to play against each other. In total, each team competed in 4 matches. All of the teams participated fairly and enjoyed the afternoon. The children enjoyed competing against each other and having the opportunity to make new friends.  Well done to all involved.
