Y5/6 Football

Mr Unett, 27 Nov 2019

On Friday 22nd November, Edwards Hall sent a team to the main 6 aside competition run by SPSSA.

On arrival we found we drawn against Prince Avenue, Thorpe Hall, West Leigh and Heycroft. Making a solid start, we drew the opening game 0-0. Our second game saw us victorious 2-0. Against West Leigh (who went on to finish 3rd overall), we took the lead but let them back in and lost 4-1. Our final match against Heycroft in the morning group saw us play Heycroft. In another tightly contested game, we lost 1-0 meaning we finished the morning in 3rd place in our group and narrowly missed out on the best 3rd place finish. In the afternoon we had a further 4 matches. We lost the opening 1-0. Won the second match 3-0 but unfortunately picked up several injuries. The final two matches got away from us and ended in defeat. The boys felt deflated in the end but should be very proud of their efforts! Well done boy and good luck for the league campaign.
