Autumn 1

Mr Woodhouse, 30 Oct 2017

As the first half-term draws to a close the sporting fixture list certain hasn't eased off.

Last Friday saw a truly eventful football match unfold between Godshill and Queensgate's under nines. With time running out, a resurgent Godshill battled back from two early goals to be beaten by 3-2. It was a fantastic match with all of the players giving their all for their respective school.

The under eleven girls tag rugby team took to the field on Monday in the Island finals where they beat Holy Cross 25-20, then they beat Cowes 25-5. Finally an extremely close game with Newchurch ended up 20-15 in favour of Newchurch. Mrs Brown could falter the girls skill application, hard work and determination.

Finally, the under eleven cross country team took part in the Harwoods cross country championship on Thursday, hosted by Shanklin FC.  Despite no formal cross country endurance training, the mixed year five and six team ran extremely well in challenging conditions and placed 16th out of 32 teams.

Mr Knight and Mrs Brown would like to thank all of the children who have either attended after school sports clubs and those who have gone on to represent the school for their hard work, dedication and commitment to promoting sport at Godshill Primary School.
