Battersea Football League Boys vs The Roche

Chris Graham, 7 Feb 2020

Having lost by 1 goal last week, our boys arrived ready to show The Roche (and Pete, their Coach) how much they wanted to win today….and they tried their hardest to deliver.

First half, a number of balls kicked in the direction of the goal (Platon, Matthieu, Finn), but not quite hitting the target, although Jago (Honeywell’s Yr 6 Goalie) didn’t see the ball more than twice (and saved both those goals – one with his nose)!

Starting the second half with a 0-0 score, Honeywell piled on the pressure, and drove the ball further into the attacking box, to land a goal by Ned (Yr 5) assisted ably by Lucas (also Yr 5) and a palatable sigh of relief from us on the sidelines….a second goal followed shortly from Finn, to allow us to breathe more easily and give our players a rest and a chance to ease off the pressure slightly, not that they did though, as they kept a clean sheet, with excellent defence from Max & Will.

Brilliant work boys – Sacred Heart next week!
