Year 10 Sports Leaders assisted with the primary School Games 3v3 Mini Basketball competition this month.
Having undertaken some training on the 3v3 mini basketball rules and how to officiate from Hurstmere's basketball guru Mr Maher a group of year 10 sports leaders officiated one of the basketball leagues which took place before half term. The league was very competitive but the leaders did a great job and ensured teams understood what mistakes they had made so could learn and improve their play each game.
After half tern the winners of all the borough leagues came to Hurstmere for the finals. Once again our leaders organised the event and officiated the matches. The standard of play was very impressive from the primary school teams and matches were very close but Hillsgrove came out on top and were crowned champions.
Hurstmere leaders did a great job and never missed an opportunity to impress the younger children with their own basketball skills!
