Alternative Sports (28/06/19)

Mr Neaves, 1 Jul 2019

We were joined by Sports Leaders from The Regis School to have a large intra-school competition and have a go at Tri-Golf, Ultimate Frisbee and Boccia.

Alternative Sports (28/06/19)

We split our 4 house teams in to smaller groups of mixed KS2 classes and the children were treated to a variety of events to score points for their houses.

Boccia proved to be very popular, and already the pupils of JYS have asked to do more of this!

The children also enjoyed the golfing activities, but lots of the children had done some form of golf before (from lessons to crazy golf).

The big hit of the morning was the Ultimate Frisbee. This proved to be something that the children then tried to replicate at lunch break, and something that we are considering offering as a lunchtime club in the next academic year.

Our thanks go out to Sean and his Sports Leaders for organising such an engaging and interesting morning of sports for over 120 pupils.

Oak team were our overall winners (with 113 points to second place Beech’s 111), with their smaller 3rd team winning the most points for their house.
