Y1&2 Football
An inter-school football tournament at Chichester College for teams from Year 1 & 2.
We were delighted to take a team of 6 Yr2 boys an 4 Y1 girls down to Chichester College today to compete in a football tournament. There were 8 teams, and our children played in teams of 7 aside on the astro-turf. For many of the pupils from JYS, this was their first time playing football outside of the after-school club that they participate in, and they all said how much fun they had.
All of the children took part and, although they didn't win any games, they did get a couple of goal-less draws. But they showed true sportsmanship, ran until they were out of puff and enjoyed themselves. As we walked back to school for lunch, they were already asking when they could play again. It's not always about the winning!
