Year 5/6 Girls football tournament

Year 5/6 Girls football tournament held at Weston Football Club 16 Oct 2019

 The sun was shining at Weston Football Club for the year 5/6 NSSPEA football tournament. Our team consisted of Grace in goal, Mia, Tayliah, Niamh S, Sophie (year 6 girls), Amy, Emily S, Olivia and MArlie (year 5 girls). This is the first time we have played as a team. We were in a group of four teams consisting of Mendip Green St Marks, Worle Village and ourselves. Our girls showedg reat sportsmanship throughout with our year 6 girls supporting the year 5s in their positioning on the pitch. I our first game Sophie and Marlie both scored two goals each giving us a win. Our next game was against a very strong Worle Village where no goals were scored. In our last game Marlie scored one goal and Sophie scored two providing us with another win. We were top of our group and we had to play Mead Vale in a playoff to go to the World Cup. We were one goal down when Sophie scored making a draw. Then Marlie scored yet another girl providing us with a win.

Our girls showed great determination and sportsmanship and we are looking forward to working together as a team and improving our football and having lots of fun in doing so.
