Year 5/6 Girls lose in quarter finals of the Primary Stars competition
Our Year 5/6 Girls couldn't emulate the girls from the previous season who managed to make the finals of the competition last year and lose out in the quarters.
After going unbeaten in the group stages of the Girls competition and having not conceded a goal in the entire competition, Northbury were undone in the quarter finals by Fairways. A break down the left hand side which came too easily and allowed a Fairways player to cut inside after beating two players and slot into the bottom corner.
Northbury Girls tried to fight back and although they looked threatening going forward and hit the cross bar the girls looked unusually shaky at the back and conceded a second from some poor marking.
Overall an under par performance from the Girls but full credit to Fairways who deserve their place in the semi finals.
Northbury Girls out of 2 competitions in 2 weeks. Luckily for them they still have the BDFSA League and Cup along with the Essex Cup to play for.
