Northbury Year 6 Boys lost 8-2 to Roding Cannington in the last 16 of the Barking and Dagenham Post Cup

Year 6 boys crash out of the BD Post cup at the Round of 16

On Thursday 21st March our Year 6 boys football team travelled to Roding Primary School to play Roding Cannington in the last 16 of the BD Post cup. In what started as a closely contested game, Roding's quality began to show as the game went on. Roding scored from a free kick midway through the first half after Northbury keeper Bashar saved against the onrushing striker who unknowingly deflected the ball in. Roding got a second from a cross from the right and a third from a long ranged shot into the bottom corner making it 3-0 at half-time.

Northbury then gave away a penalty to make it 4-0 to Roding after the penalty was dispatched calmly into the bottom corner. Roding soon after made it 5-0, before a penalty was awarded to Northbury and Aaqib (c) stepped up to slot home to make it 5-1. Roding hit back again to make it 6-1 before Aaqib then scored again with a great left footed effort into the top corner to make it 6-2.  Roding scored 2 late goals to make it 8-2 after a real dominating performance from their team.

Northbury unfortunately are out of the competition and we wish Roding Cannington all the best in the next round of the cup!
