Year 6 football team start off their Post Cup campaign with a narrow win!

Northbury edge out Manor Jr with a 4-3 win in the Barking and Dagenham Post Cup!!

Goals from Jephthah (2), Josh and strike from outside of the box from Abdul W gave Northbury the win against fellow Barking school Manor Jr.

Manor Jr started off strongly in a competitive game at the Sandringham Road stadium. The pitch was long and heavy which meant both teams had to work hard to overcome the other. Northbury shortly took the lead with his first of the afternoon for Jephthah before allowing Manor Jr to level before half-time. 

With the scores level at the break Northbury came out stronger by going 3-1 up with goals from Josh and a banger from Abdul W from outside the box which went in off the left post. Northbury again though allowed Manor back into the game to make it 3-2 through a penalty before Jephthah made it 4-2 with a cool finish. Northbury again slipped up giving Manor a free-kick that they converted.

Northbury escaped a late Manor onslaught as the full time whistle blew. 

Northbury get their first win of the competition which they have never won. Could this be the year?
