Here is a round-up of many of our inter-school sports events from the autumn term.

Autumn 2022 Sports Events at O.L.I.

Year 5/6 Hockey

Well done to the Year 5/6 Hockey team that represented our school at a festival hosted by Surbiton Hockey Club on Thursday 6th October 2022. It was a great sunny morning, and the children really developed their skills during the morning. The highlight was 5-0 win against St John’s.

Year 4 Basketball

On Monday 10th October 2022, ten pupils from Year 4 participated in a basketball festival at Kingston Academy. They did brilliantly, winning all their matches!

Year 5/6 Cross Country Championships

On Wednesday 12th October 2022, 30 children represented O.L.I. in the Borough Cross-Country Championships. We performed excellently out of the 20 schools: Our team results were: Year 5 Girls: 13th place  Year 5 Boys: 2nd place (silver medallists)  Year 6 Girls: 5th place, Year 6 Boys: 6th place. Special mention to Jonny who finished in 2nd individually.

Year 6 Boys’ Football

On Tuesday 8th November 2022, our Year 6 team who won a four-team football competition at Richard Challoner, bringing a trophy back to the O.L.I. The boys were unbeaten in their three matches, scoring four goals and conceding none.

Year 2 Mixed Football

Well done to the Year 2 children who on Monday 14th November represented our school in a football festival at Surbiton Prep. Mrs Waller was really impressed with the teamwork and enthusiasm that was on display.

Year 4 Girls’ Football

Congratulations to the six Year 4 girls who on Wednesday 14th November 2022 took part in the Borough championships at Kew AFC. The girls did really well to finish 2nd place in their group which had four teams, losing, drawing and winning one match each. Great level of behaviour, enthusiasm and respect shown throughout the morning- well done girls!

Year 6 Girls’ Football

Congratulations to nine of our Year 6 girls who, on Tuesday 22nd November 2022, took part in a football competition at Richard Challoner. With two closely fought draws and one loss, the girls came in 3rd place, and all behaved wonderfully.

Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics

Well done to many of our Year 5 and 6 pupils who took part in the Borough’s Sportshall Athletics competition at Kingston Academy on Wednesday 23rdNovember 2022. The children showed excellent teamwork as they participated in a range of relay races and field events. We came in a very credible 3rd place out of the six schools and 5thout of 12 in the whole of the Borough. More importantly, to see the enjoyment of our children. Finally, many thanks to our three parent helpers who kindly supported in travelling to and from the venue.
