Swimming Gala

On Thursday 28th of September fourteen children from Year 6, took part in the Swimming Gala representing O.L.I.

We arrived here feeling very nervous and very anxious. When Mrs Blunt arrived there, we had a group meeting to chat our team tactics.

Then it was time to swim, the organisers told us the rules. Everyone was so nervous  but first up was Front Crawl boys individual and the fastest two boys would advance to the final. Unfortunately, George Harding (6 Flamingos) just missed out on advancing to the final but he did brilliantly. Next, was the Front Crawl girls individual and the same with boys the fastest two would advance to the final.

In the girls race, Caitlin Lowe ( 6 Albatross) came 2nd in her race which that means she was in the final. After that was Backstroke individual which Kieran Hammond (6 Albatross) missed out on the Final. Next, was Backstroke individual which Sarai Rex ( 6 Flamingos) did very well but unfortunately missed out on the final. Then it was Breaststroke boys which Riley Dormer (6 Flamingos) came 2nd in his race which means in the final. Next breaststroke individual which Jemima Zain-Prosser came 1st in her race which means she was in the Final.

Next was the Front Crawl relay which both boys and girls did well. Boys: Kieran Hammond (6 Albatross), Riley Dormer ( 6 Flamingos), Sam Bennett (6 Flamingos) and George Harding (6 Flamingos. Girls: Layla O’Brien (6 Albatross), Mariella Lloyd (6 Flamingos) Alice Viegas (6 Albatross) and Sarai Rex (6 Flamingos).
