Year 5 Tag Rugby Championships

On a bright clear Autumnal morning, ten Year 5 pupils (see photograph) met with 25 other Kingston schools on Dinton Playing Field in Kingston to represent our school in a Tag Rugby tournament.

OLI played three first round matches in which they displayed excellent teamwork, passing initiatives and try-scoring. The teams were each seven-a-side and all players shared the taking part in the different games, happily swapping in and out to give everyone a chance and encouraging each other as they played.

We secured one great victory and two very close losses against teams who featured children from both Year 5 and 6.

It was a brilliant morning with our OLI pupils showing great teamwork, skills and respect for the other schools’ players – making sure to shake hands at the end of each match. Well done to all the Tag Rugby team for taking part and showing such great enthusiasm, perseverance and ability!
