Boys first league match of the season.

Mrs Paton, 14 Oct 2018

Our boys team played their first league match of the season on Thursday.

Boys first league match of the season.

Our boys had their first league match of the season on Thursday against St Joseph’s catholic school . For most of the boys this was the first time they had represented school and they were very excited and proud to be wearing the school football Kit.

It was a really well contested game and st Joseph’s took the lead after one of our players fouled their attacker, their player rode the tackle and the referee gave advantage and it was well taken advantage as a quick pass and into the net.

The game carried on end to end and plenty of glances for both teams, we managed an equaliser justbefore half time in a goal mouth scramble.

Second half was again well contested by both teams, but it was our school that took the lead. A superb save from St Joseph’s goal keeper from a free kick but he could only knock it out to our striker who was just on side and knocked it straight back at the keeper leaving him off balance and unable to save the shot.

This was like a shot of adrenaline for St Joseph’s and they piled on the pressure for the remaining match. Attack after attack but with no reward. At full time the score remained 2-1 to Sparkenhill.

Well done to both teams a really good advert for school boy football.
