Basketball area final - Wednesday 17th January.

A massive well done to St Joseph's basketball team! They are through to the next round of the competition after coming first in the area basketball final at Marsh House Sports Complex.

The children were thrilled to be in the area final, where they found out they were one of the top 12 schools in the area at playing basketball.

The area final started with St Joseph's winning their first match 12-nil. The children worked incredibly hard as a team, passing often and encouraging each other. Their next match was a nail-biter! The coach from St Joseph's was worried we'd be out of the competition at that point as the children started to make mistakes, such as travelling with the ball and not using all of the team to their best. A quick sub change and the game was theirs.

The team played with passion and brilliant teamwork, which resulted in them gaining their gold medals. Not only did they play well as a  team, they were noted as displaying great sportsmanship towards the other team, checking they were okay if their opponents fell over and congratulating them on a good game.

Well done St Joe's! Next stop, Middlesbrough finals!
