Leadership Training

Miss Bradley, 22 Feb 2018

Year 5s attend Leadership Training with Mrs Turner.

On Tuesday 30th January, Mrs Turner took six Year 5 pupils to Marsh House Sports Complex to take part in the leadership training.

Aimee, Eve, Erin, Isaac, Lewis and Matthew took part in the day and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was lots of things for them to do to promote children being active for 30 minutes everyday! They took part in games that they can play, and teach to the other children at break times. They also learnt the importance of warm ups and cool downs, and have planned their own routines so that they can use in school- The Sports Crew are desperate to lead warm ups in the PE lessons!

In addition to games and keeping healthy, the children were also shown how to create tournaments for schools to run. This is another thing that the 6 children really can't wait to do.

For the Sports Crew, their first job at St Joseph's is to introduce the Spring Termly Challenge and show off their Hula Hooping skills!!  From next week, the Sports Crew will be in charge  of hoops and offering children a go at the Termly Challenge with the aim to beat their personal best!

Good luck to all those who attempt the Termly Challenge!
