On Monday 21st May a group of Year 5&6 girls represented John Bamford in a Kwik cricket competition at Cannock Cricket and Hockey Club. The tournament was played in a round robin style format with four teams so that everybody played everybody. Our students won their first two games and going into their last they knew a win would take them through to the next stage. They were coming up against a school who had also won two out of two and were the raining champions. We chose to bad first and with a very good score of 228 we set the standards high. Unfortunately some very good bating from the opposition meant we lost out by only 9 runs. All of our children represented the school outstandingly and were gracious in defeat.
