Our First ACET Event of the year!

ACET Football Champions

Within our growing trust, we now have 6 primary schools which makes it perfect for our own inter-schools competitions. Over the past few years, we have increased our number of ACET compeition with a variety of sports. During Autumn 1, Mr. Lynch of Lowedges Junior Academy thought it would be best to put on a Year 6 Football Competition to give them a chance to take part in some competitions before the SATS prep kicks in.

So, we had a Boys competition and Girls competition in order to encourage fair play and sportsmanship. Playing 7 a side, it made for some really close matches. In the girls competition,  Thurcorft were crowned winners by winning every game and only conceding 1 goal for the whole compeition. MOM going to Tilly Payton for scoring 4 goals and setting up 2.

Next onto the boys. The boys played with great spirit through despite losing their opening games to Listerdale 1-0. The next game came against Aughton, The boys were victorious 2-0 with goals from William Rhodes and Mitchell Cakebread. Then came the final game against Lowedges. In a closely battled final game, it ended in a 1-1 draw. Without knowing how the other matches had gone, it was down to Mr. Lynch to reveal the result.

Going down to goal difference, Thurcorft came out on top by 1 goal. With the girls winning too, Thurcroft were crowned ACET Football Champions. Let hope this sets the trend for our ACET Competitions this year.
