Autumn 1 Update

Mr Hall, 14 Oct 2020

See what we are doing in Autumn 1 in PE this year.

Isn't it nice to be back in school?

We are in week 7 of our first half term back of the new academic year.  The pupils just wanted to update you on what we have been doing in PE this half term. With the current guide line in place we are having to get creative with our PE lessons, break and lunch time activities.

Within PE, pupils have been working really hard to develop their Orienteering skills by using maps and features to find control points around the school. Year 3 and 4 have been looking for super heroes while Year 5 and 6 have been finding control markers with unique stamps.  Further to this, all pupils have been developing their battling and fielding skills in Rounders. We have been playing socially distant games of rounders and 10 base rounders within our lessons. Pupils are really enjoying being outside this half term and have embraced the colder weather with open arms.

At break and lunch times pupils have been coming up with creative games with the equipment they have. These games are then being shared via virtual class council meetings so all pupils are aware of what games everyone is playing and can also join in the fun.

This week we have our first virtual ACET competition which all pupils are really excited about. Check back in next week to see how we got on.
