Cross Country (Spring Races) - Race 4

Our marvellous, spring cross-country team!

Look at these wonderful children and how proud they are of what they are doing!

Mr Lockley and I were delighted to be able to watch 40 of our junior children from Year 4-6, compete in the first of our spring cross-country races.

The boys kicked off the show - running superbly - gaining amazing finishing positions. Our first boy home, and one of our youngest runners, was Sami, earning an amazing 4th place position! Alex C also came storming through the finish in an incredible 7th place. Our Y5 boys then came through in unison, earning a fantastic 11th, 12th, and 18th place, out of 115 boys! Those finishing positions were gained by Jack H, Ben and Ryan. How amazing is that! We also had fantastic finishes for many of our other boy runners, including Jack R and Theo L in 22nd and 23rd place, followed closely by Jacob P in 26th.  We are also extremely proud of our other runners, including Stanley, Alfie, Leo, Theo P, Louie, Charlie, Finley, Jack L, Saxon, Hunter, George and Noah! Just to mention a few! We were thrilled to welcome Kelly and Jacob B this season, who weren't running before Christmas, and Thumelo, who has just joined our class. It’s always wonderful to see our participation numbers rise and the interest and engagement ascend.

Over to our girls (#ThisGirlCan!). The girls had a challenging race, competing against 79 girls in total. However, they stormed ahead, they persevered and they finished well. Our first three through the finish funnel were Georgie in 4th place, Scarlet in 10th and Urte in 23rd place! Amazing! Erin followed soon after with an amazing 31st place. Bella came soaring through in 40th place, followed by Matilda in 48th and Hannah W in 47th. Our other super star runners all finished well, including Layla, Katie G, Hannah P, Olivia, Poppy and Martha. You were amazing girls!

As always Tirlebrook,  we are super proud that you were there to cheer each other on, to congratulate each other and to support each other when you needed to. Your dedication, commitment and enthusiasm is impeccable. Thank you for your efforts and for always trying to do your best. That’s all that we could possibly want.

Bring on next week; our final competitive race of the whole cross-country season!
