House Competition - The Year 5/6 Swimming Gala

On Friday afternoon, the annual Y5 and Y6 Inter-House Swimming Gala made a welcome return after having been cancelled for the past two years due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)! It was great to be back doing what Tirlebrook does best -working together, celebrating each other’s successes and cheering each other on! The children sat in their houses around the poolside and were supported by Miss.Moysey, Mrs. Assheton,  Mr.Mander or myself. Each child represented their house fiercely, all earning points towards the overall KS2 Swimming Gala event. The children competed gracefully and always tried their very best -and there was some exceptional swimming on display to boot! This, combined with consistently excellent behaviour and attitudes, led to a highly competitive but friendly competition. Events children participated in were width races, float races, length races, relays, a diving competition and a SPLASH! competition! Later in the summer it will be the Y3 and Y4 children’s turn to take part, meaning we can then combine their results with those points collected by the older children on Friday before announcing this year’s Inter-House Swimming Gala Champions!’
