Indoor Cricket

Our cricket team ventured to @Leisure, Cheltenham to compete in an indoor cricket event, led by Move More. Below, our Year 5s have gathered their thoughts to put together an overview of their experience.

'Our team were given the opportunity to bat and field against several teams, including Queen Margaret's, St James, St Johns and Bishop's Cleeve.

When we arrived, most of the teams were warming up. We found a space and had a group chat about the rules, before the event leader introduced the event and started the competition!

Our first game was against Queen Margaret's, in which Molly managed to create 15 runs! Jacob P and Jack L were thrilled to hit the back ball - earning an additional 2 points each for their team!

We then played against St James, St johns, Bishop's Cleeve and Tredington. Unfortunately, we did not win any of our games but we still had lots of fun, definitely! During these games, all of our team members managed to hit the back wall!

Everyone tried very hard. Alfie was excellent at fielding - probably because of his goal keeper skills. Jack L was really good at getting back to the stumps when we played a very quick bowler! Jack also hit a ball that ended up landing in an fixed basketball hoop too!

Katie was our indoor cricket captain - she was amazing at batting! We really enjoyed hearing Rosie cheering us on, "Show 'em who's boss!" and "Break a leg but don't break a leg!" she shouted.

I think that is why Rosie was awarded with a teamwork School Games band.

We all played really well as a team and it was a great experience!'
