A New Unicorn Record for Cross Country

Miss Letchford, 19 Nov 2023

Eighteen pupils took part in the Year 5 & 6 Cross County Championships at Crystal Palace on Saturday 18th November. Well done to all those who were competing in their very first race. Just to complete the difficult course is a huge achievement and we are always extremely proud of everyone who takes part. Once again, Unicorn came away with some amazing results.

Congratulations to Alex W, who achieved 6th place, and Thomas, who placed 12th, in their last ever cross country race for Unicorn. Luc improved on his previous scores by finishing in 2nd place.  In a race with over 350 competitors, we think you’ll agree that this is a remarkable achievement and a new Unicorn record. Well done Luc!

It was lovely to see a local rising star, Sam Reardon, attend the event to inspire the children. Sam is the British indoor 400m champion.  He took part in the same cross country event as a child and now trains with the Blackheath and Bromley Harriers, as do many of our pupils!
