Super Start for U11s Football Team

On Wednesday 20th September the U11 Boys Football Team started their season with the Rural Schools Danone Sevens Tournament held at Queensgate Primary School. In the group stage the boys were excellent winning 2 of their 4 matches and drawing the other two,  only conceding 1 and scoring 8 goals overall.

After topping the group they went on to play Holly Cross in the Semi Final where the boys continued to play as a team and with an excellent attitude. They won the match 2-0 which meant a third meeting with Shalfleet in the final. The teams were level 0-0 after normal time so the game went to extra time. The boys, although tired, never gave up and in the hunt for the winning goal left a bit of space at the back for Shalfleet to score. In the end the game finished 2-0 to Shalfleet.

The boys can be immensely proud of their achievement and I was certainly proud of them all for the way they played and showed great sportsmanship throughout.

Well Done Boys!
