Well Earned Draw for Boys Football Team
On Thursday 12th October the Boys Football Team started their league season against Holy Cross.
The match started very well for the boys scoring very early. Holy Cross equalised later in the half with a strong shot from outside the area. The team took the lead again but were pegged back straight away after the kick off with a great goal from the Holy Cross player who took his chance from inside his own half.
The game was fiercely contested at 2-2 for a long time with both teams having chances and both goalies making some good saves. Eventually it was Holy Cross who took the lead, the team rallied together and started to create more and more chances but couldn't score past the Holy Cross goalkeeper who was starting to look unbeatable, with about 3 minutes to go they finally managed to squeeze one in after the boy fell loose following a good first save from a long range shot, 3-3.
With the clock ticking down the boys looked like they believed they could go on an win the game but the keeper, time after time repelled them. A very even game finished 3-3 which overall was probably a fair result as both teams played extremely well.
