Impact Award Winners 2021/22

We have been overwhelmed reading about the positive change that is happening in schools around the country and to all those who have made an impact. 

The Impact Awards are designed to showcase the change makers, those making a positive difference in young people’s lives and those who can inspire others to do the same. 

The winners of the 2021/22 Impact Awards are: 

Lisa Alford, Rebecca Skinner, and Active Devon worked with their SGOs across the County who won the Commonwealth Games Impact award that recognises activities highlighting the positive impact through sport to honour Birmingham 2022. 

Steven Jamieson and Tim Fletcher, SGOs from Lancaster & Heysham, won the Secondary School Focus award that recognises activities that directly engages with children and young people of secondary school age. 

Nick Gillard, a School Games Organiser for the Exeter and Mid Devon area, won the Development Champions award. This recognises activities which highlights the wider benefits of physical activity and focuses on developing young people’s mental, physical and social wellbeing. 

Sharon Robertson from Energise Me (Hampshire and Isle of White) won the Engaging Schools award. This recognises activities that help develop a school’s understanding of the School Games and its desired impact on children and young people. 

Bernadette O’Hare, an SGO from Bolton, won the Those in Need award. This recognises activities that target the children and young people who are facing the biggest inequalities and challenges when it comes to their access, confidence, competence or motivations to physical activity and school sport. 

Amelia Robertson, a teacher from New Brancepeth Primary Academy, won the Opportunity Supporters award. This recognises activities that give young people the opportunity to focus on character development and employment skills through taking up leadership or volunteer roles.
