School Games National Summit 2019

The School Games National Summit 2019 is delivered by the Youth Sport Trust and supported by Sport England, through National Lottery investment.

Through various topical keynotes, workshops and structured networking, the event will see all 450 School Games Organisers, Active Partnerships and a range of National Governing Bodies from across the country come together to share best practice, celebrate achievements and stretch thinking.

We will also celebrate the School Games National Summit awards. An opportunity to share the achievements and innovation of the network as well as celebrate the difference this works makes to the lives of young people across the country.

Venue

This year’s Summit will take place on Tuesday 19 November at the Ricoh Arena, Judds Lane, Longford, Coventry, CV6 6AQ. Due to its geographical position, the Ricoh Area is within 2 hours drive of 75% of the population. The venue has 2,000 parking spaces and is easy to access from the local train station and Birmingham International Airport.

Awards

Throughout the two course lunch a number of Awards will be presented to acknowledge School Games Organisers, National Governing Bodies of Sport and Local Organising Committees who have been innovative and gone the extra mile in their approaches to providing the very best experiences for young people in sport and physical activity through the School Games.

Programme

We recommend that you download and review the School Games Summit programme before the event as well as having a copy with you on the day. This can be accessed on the right-hand side. 

Non-attendance 

We really want you to be part of this year’s School Games Summit. It is an important part of the annual calendar and it sets the direction of travel for the next year.

You are a vital part of the team and we don’t want to be without you. 

We are required to formally report on attendance and this is a contractual condition and will count toward your professional measure KPI. We have also been recording attendance and reasons for the past two years.

If there are any extenuating circumstances that mean you are not able to join us then please ensure you complete the following actions:

In advance:

Please email your regional support team to let them know you are unable to attend and provide the reason for not attending. Even if you have notified your Development Coach or Development Manager, can we please ask that you put this in writing to us directly.

On the day:

On the day of the Summit, If an incident outside of your control happens which means you are unable to attend then please make contact with us at your earliest convenience and provide details for our records. Even if you have notified a colleague to let us know can we ask that you also that put this in writing to you regional inbox.
