Activity details

Compass Clues is an engaging activity where pupils will develop their evaluation and decision making skills while on the move. Following the directions to help navigate the play space, pupils solve the clues provided along the way. 

  • Number of participants: Pair/Group 
  • Purpose of activity: Increase pupil’s activity levels by developing a trail to follow, using directions (possibly with a compass) and solving clues along the way. 
  • Including all pupils: STEP framework included. 
  • Pupil roles: Participant
  • Space: Indoors/Outdoors. This can be played in a variety of different settings, on school field or playground, school hall. If necessary pupils can start at different points on the route if play space is not large. 
  • Equipment: Compasses, individual wipe clean boards/paper and pens.
