Activity details

This is a traditional game sometimes known as French Skipping. It uses jumping and accuracy of movements to navigate the loop of elastic using rhyme and rhythm to create and perform routines. It requires accurate movements to jump, on or over the elastic. This activity supports body control, balance and stability and will certainly increase the heart rate.

  • Pupil roles: Participant
  • Space: Indoors/Outdoors. Ensure there is enough space for pupils to jump up and sideways. Also ensure other pupils cannot run and trip on the elastic whilst it is being played.
