Activity details

Tribal Dance uses the powerful Hakka, traditional in New Zealand as a stimulus to develop routines and movements to a strong rhythmical beat. This activity supports body control, rhythm and flexibility. 

  • Number of participants: Individual/Pairs/Groups     
  • Purpose of activity: Increase pupil’s activity levels through a fun dance type activity    
  • Including all pupils: STEP framework included.      
  • Pupil roles: Participant/Choreographer    
  • Space: Indoors/Outdoors. Ensure there is enough space for pupils to move freely to the left and right, forwards and backwards without bumping into others.      
  • Equipment: Music, drum, tambourine
