Great Eccleston Copp CofE Primary School

Great Eccleston Copp is a small village school, with approximately 123 pupils, set in the heart of the local communities of Great Eccleston and Elswick. We take part in many sporting activities and have regular PE lessons as part of our wider curriculum. We ensure our children get off to the best start by ensuring the basics of moving and handling are taught as soon as they arrive in our "outstanding" reception class.
At Copp we encourage all children to take part in PE and sport no matter what their ability. All of our children have the opportunity to take part in sporting events, whether that be competing, reporting or commentating during competitions.
Our 8 Year 6 Team Captains are our pupil voice for sports and they help keep the school up to date with upcoming events and PE activities which have taken place. They also have responsibilities for organising inter school competitions and running different playground activities at break / lunch times.
We pride ourselves on giving the children as many opportunities as possible and we want our children to enjoy being active, which in turn will lead to them showing resilience in facing new challenges.
This academic year we hope to earn the School Games Gold Award.
