Determination Action Sports Festival

Mr Ellis, 3 Mar 2020

We went to the Determination Action Sports Festival

On last Friday in February we were very fortunate to be able to take 11 lucky year 4 children to the huge Greystone Sports arena in Salford which hosts all kinds of extreme sports events such as parkour, skateboarding, trampolining and foam pits.

The children had the chance to try three different action sports at this amazing venue and showed huge amounts of bravery and determination in each one.

We started off with the trampolines and huge crash mats which children showed off various rolls, jumps and cartwheels into as they raced to be the first team finished.

We followed that up with huge dives and jumps into the foam pit which we then had to clamber out of. It wasn’t just the children though as Mr Ellis had a go at

jumping off, although the jump wasn’t as impressive.

Next up the children had a go on scooters whizzing their way round a obstacle course before having a go up and down the ramps. During this Mr Pownall had a go on the balance board, which led to him going flying and ending up being in a heap on the floor.

Lastly we had a go at skateboarding with the children all showing super balance skills and great bravery to have a go at something completely new!
