Sarem Squash Tournament

On Wednesday 23rd November our Y5/6 Squash team went to compete in a Tri-tournament against St. Wilfred’s & Nether Green. The Apex Squash & Racketball schools tournament was hosted at the Hallamshire Tennis & Squash Club and was sponsored again by Sarem. 

Everybody had four five minute match ups, with a quick knock up to start. Even though there was limited game time, points started racking up. In the first round alone Hunters Bar got two – hundred and sixty nine points between sixteen competitors.

The first matchup was against St. Wilfreds in the first round. Our team pulled ahead, ready to battle Nether Green who were hot on our heels. After that, we had another faceoff with Nether Green. Then, after a break we faced St. Wilfreds in the final round. 

After the drama, the coaches counted up the scores, then the results were in. Reading out the placements, they started with third, then second and finally first. In last but not least St. Wilfreds. This meant us and Nether Green were left in the running for the first place trophy...and we came out victorious!
