2021 Secondary and Primary Schools Activity Challenge

I imagine that most schools are now well rehearsed with remote learning, but in case anyone was looking for an additional resource to keep students fit and active during the coming weeks, please find attached a very simple fitness challenge for pupils now learning at home. The poster can be added onto your school's learning platform, website and social media platforms - there's no need for you to do anything beyond this. However for those who are super-motivated I've also attached a log sheet that you can also send out if you want to set this as 'homework' for students to log their activity. Perhaps launch it next Monday 11th January, and try to encourage students to complete as many days as possible up until February half term. Those without access to a printer could design their own log sheet. This will help pupils to integrate daily exercise into their lives; the full 28-day log will help to instil habits that may last for a lifetime. There's no results-collecting or anything onerous, but if there is demand I will run an inter-school competition to find the school with the most participants and/or the individual who does the most minutes in the time before schools reopen. Schools wishing to participate in this will need to send out the log sheets initially and collect them in when we return. Then simply count how many participants took part and calculate who did the most total minutes (a task for Sports Leaders or send direct to me!). Send in evidence of your results and participation or I can collect sheets from your schools when notified. I have lots of redundant medals which are languishing in the cupboard, so lots of students can be rewarded for their efforts! I hope this may also encourage adults and families to get involved so please ask them to post photos of themselves joining in with activities using #2021FitnessChallenge and tag @SSPSutton on Twitter.
