Live Sports - Women's Cycling Race through Tewkesbury

‘It was a thrill for children in Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 to watch women from the Tour of Britain start the third stage of the tour in Tewkesbury town centre. Lining the side of the road, children waited eagerly for the cyclists to pass. While waiting, numerous marshals passed on motorbikes, along with police, ambulance crews and race directors -beeping horns and sounding sirens. After a few minutes, the convoy of cyclists approached -children were amazed by how many cyclists were involved in the race and that they were arranged so neatly in rows as they made their way to the ‘Start Proper’. Children waved their flags, cheered and showed their support for all women taking part in the race -a few cyclists even waved back and smiled, breaking from their moment of focus and concentration! Our experience lasted less than a minute, but we know that we showed our support to the cyclists and wished them well with this third stage of the race! Good luck everyone!
